I really like the way martin Logan speakers look.


I have a 20X30X8' "bright" room.


Home theater comes first, music listening second.


I'm wondering if I can use ML speakers at least LCR with a Denon AVR 4800 and Outlaw 5 channel amp and perhaps use Atlantic Technology 370 IN-SR speakers for side and rear speakers in a Dolby THX/EX setup?


The other issues here are (1) which sub woofer to use (I've heard it needs to be a fast one) (2) I've heard the ML center channel speakers don't always match the ML LR front sides (3) I've heard the ML's are sensitive to using "correct" amplifiers.


How close to THX specs do the ML's come to?

Not even close. That being said, if you're real careful in placement and room design you can use them effectively.


I'd strongly discourage the use of AT (or any other speakers)for the surround channels. You'd be better off with the SL3's (cleverly mounted).
