If the price is to be honored only for those who ordered through the "incorrect link" what exactly does that mean?

In other words, what qualifies as ordering through the

"incorrect link". Is that everyone who ordered before a certain date? Is that only those who used the website to

place their orders? Does it include those of us who ordered by telephone? Does anyone know the answer?

The only other information...somewhat related is the fact that the price was placed on the net by the vendor ...not by Dell itself and they are the ones that are taking the hit on it, not Dell.


This I got when one of the reps...the guy I placed my order through was returning his calls from days ago.

ohh yeah, he said the 20% off on monitors today applied to the LT-150 as well bringing it down to like $2121 or something close. It must be done today tho...CST.

I just called Cory and I was told everyone that ordered and received an order confirmation (not order authorization - more about this below) will receive their LT150(s) at the very low price. Most of the LT150's should be shipped out by Friday August 3.


To all of you who have received your LT150(s) already and to all of us who will be receiving ours soon, we just got the buy of the quarter. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif


This appears to have been a pricing mistake by the third party vender (TD).


He also stated the only people who will not be able to take advantage of the price are the ones who ordered from the web site and received a order authorization and not an order confirmation/order number.

Well there you have it folks, we have gone from only those people that ordered online will get these projectors to only those that have order numbers will get them. As with anything time will tell....


Ok confession time, today after work I took a nap and was dreaming about the fed-ex guy knocking on my door. I woke up and checked the forums to find the message that started this thread. Well it got my panties in a bunch and I started crabing about it to my wife. She looked at me and asked, "I just don't know why you are getting yourself so worked up about this". Those words struck home and I have been thinking about that for most of the evening. For me, a lot of this Home Theater stuff sort of fills a gap in my life. I am at sort of a cross roads in my life where I am trying to finish up a degree and working at a job that leaves me feeling pretty useless at the end of most work days. So for me, I think that is why I get so worked up about all this. It's pretty sad actually and I am not sure why I am even posting this here other than I just felt like sharing (and perhaps others are in a similar boat).


My wifes birthday is this weekend and she said casually while we were walking tonight, "you know its probably a good thing that your projector is not coming this weekend because you would probably forget all about my birthday." I think she is partially right. So as touchy feely as it sounds perhaps this time "inbetween" is sort of a blessing in disguise. You know stop and smell the roses blah blah blah.


But be realistic for a second, what is the end result of all this home theater stuff? We watch movies!! It's not exactly the most socially redeaming activity. I am not saying that I don't extract quite a bit of enjoyment from watching movies but perhaps I have been wandering too far to the other side of things. It seems that so many times in my life, and perhaps in American society, materialism takes us away from what "we" really need.

This is all becoming clear now. Dell is only delivering the web orders because they can stick the loss on the third party vendor who made the mistake. On the phone orders, Dell would have to pick up the tab for the mistake, so they are not honoring those orders. I think Dell is being a weasel. I won't let them off that easy.

Hey guys go easy on DRS, he may have the same problem my

neighbor had after his wife found a pair that were not her's in his glovebox.


I felt bad about not getting in on the LT150 deal, but the

$950 savings I got on the Infocus LP530 was a bigger dollar

savings on what I hope will be a very good projector. Of

course none have actually been shipped and seen in use in

our application yet. The 20% savings is good until 8/1.

Whoops. Now I'm confused again. I ordered by telephone but

I received an order confirmation number too. So now I'm back to being uncertain where I stand. I'm now just going to wait and see what happens. If I haven't received one by the end of August I guess I'll know by that point if my order was a valid one.

I am even more confused than you are. I ordered one on Monday by phone and two on Tuesday on the web site. I have an order confirmation for the phone order but nothing for the two on Tuesday.

Well, I will wait and see if mine ships. The rep I spoke to today pulled up my order and said that it should ship on Monday, 7/30. I ordered mine from Cory by phone.
