I pretty sure I'm going to get one of the 42" Panasonic consumers models. A question I have is whether the side speakers can be removed. Initially I will be using the built-in speakers but if I decide I want to wire up a home theater I want to know if I can take off the built in ones.


I see that the industrial models don't come with speakers and that you have to buy them separately. Do they look good when attached to the display or are they pretty cheesy looking?

I wish the answer was yes (to removable speakers) on the Consumer Panasonic models as they are too wide for me with the speakers. They appear to be built into the frame, unlike the Hitachi where they can be removed.

No, they cannot be removed.

Thanks. I think I'll spend a little more time figuring out my speaker/space setup before buying.
