Subject pretty much says it all. I would like to make a few HDNet Movies recordings onto SVHS of titles that are not on DVD, but airing at times I cannot see them. However, since I have a 16X9 TV I would much rather have them as anamorphic widescreen vs. 4:3 letterbox.

I have played with the settings, but cannot figure out a way to do this. Is there none?

You 169Time people finally have one up on us DISH 5000 people!!

Are you looking for zoom features on the 6000? The 'star' button on your remote will cycle through various zooms and stretchs. This is small bonus over many receivers IMO.

No, I need the image to be anamorphic 16X9, not 4:3 letterboxed.

I haven't had the 6000 connected via s-video for ages, but I could have sworn there was some stretch mode that could be used to record anamorphic output. Did you try playing with both the 4:3/16:9 setting in HDTV options and all the * button aspect modes on the remote?

The 6000 does not have a squeeze mode for HD channels on the SD output.

There is only full zoom that crops the picture all the way around.
