Can the KD-FIRE1080P and W-VHS work together?

I was just wondering if the KD-FIRE1080P and W-VHS would work together to be able to output W-VHS as digital data? The KD-FIRE1080P has analog inputs and firewire outputs, however I am not sure if the firewire output only works if you use a firewire input, but if there isn't a limit that means you could convert W-VHS HD to digital HD?
