Can WIFi Network Change Streamed Video Image Quality?

253 Views 0 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  doctorSpoc
- AppleTV gen. 3 (wired)

- Apple AirPort Extreme (802.11n, not latest gen.) --> Asus AC56U

- Samsung series 8 plasma 58"

- 1080p handbrake blueRay rips and iTunes bought content

before changing to Asus AC56U I would get some 'banding' in areas of pict with large subtle gradients, smoke etc... E.g. wormhole vortex at start of 'Star Trek' movie; "Planet 51" background in Ilion logo with letters coming out of horse, start of scene with Clem in observatory, aliens revealed in sky; Gru rising up in front of moon when presenting plan to "minions" and many more.. now 'banding' is almost completely gone... image quality seems to be up in general...

How? ...Why?

Any ideas?
