Can you all help me choose a projector?

I'll be projecting from 13 feet away unless I can mount projector at an angle from the screen, and viewing from between 8 and 13 feet away.  I will likely just paint the wall as opposed to buying a screen.  It will be in a basement so light can be completely eliminated. I am looking for a entry to mid level depending on your personal definition of that-hoping to spend between 1000 and 1500 dollars.  Lamp replacement cost is a factor for me.  I have had a projector before but it was definitely an entry level so I didn't care to read into all the different factors in choosing one.  I have done some of that now but it takes a bit to wrap my head around it all.  I'm just looking for some experienced opinions on which features I should consider the most important and maybe some suggestions on which to get.

Thanks in advance

I guess if I'm not spending 2k+ I might be better off just getting a more budget friendly projector?  maybe HD131Xe?  what do you all think
Mitsubishi HC7900dw. $799 right now, competitive with the $2500 units like the Epson 5030 and Panasonic AE8000.

I guess lumens do not matter when i'm in a basement from 13 feet out
Lumens matter if you're watching 3D. Methinks the Mitsu might be a little too dim for good 3D, at least with a larger screen.

On the plus side, you can place the Mitsu further back from the screen than most of the others. The Optoma not quite as far, but still further than the BenQ.

Everyone is saying the mitsu has excellent 3d... which I'm not too interested in to begin with. Anyway I got all excited last night and already bought the thing from tiger direct.  You think I should buy a spare bulb since the projector is being discontinued or will there still be ways to get it?  my last projector had like 300 or 500 lumens back in 07 or 08 and I could still watch dim football in the living room at the time.  I gotta think this one in a basement will blow my expectations away.  My six month search for a projector culminated to joining here yesterday, reading for 8 hours and buying one at 2 a.m.  So thanks again for the input you all, I look forward to bothering everyone with tech questions for the next year or so.
