In brief, it's D-links wireless media center, for about $179 street (at least at CDW) this thing connects to your wired/wireless network and streams your A/V files including WMA, MP3, MPEG1/2/4, Xvideo, etc. I also noticed it had component video outputs along with optical audio out. I couldn't find anything regarding PCM pass-through but I'm guessing it has it. What I don't know is if you can select what resolution the thing is at or does it default to the generic 480i over component (like my receivers OSD). Has anyone bought one of these? It would be nice to rip all my DVD's to HD and just use something like this to play them.

download the manual and you will find (on p47)

The following video file formats are supported:

MPEG-1 (up to 8Mbps)

MPEG-2 (up to 8Mbps)

MPEG-4 (ASP - Advanced Simple Profile)

AVI (MPEG4 layer only, does not support uncompressed AVI)

XVID (with MP3 and PCM)

in other words: no HDTV

Looks like a neato product, however it amuses me to see them dance around adressing HDTV. There sure aren't many references to it anywhere.

I guess they will release one with HDTV capability once the stock of this one depletes.
