Hello all,

A few month ago I upgraded the drive in my Replay 5040 using RTVpatch and one of the drive images available via the links on the Replay FAQ (rather than copying over my Replay drive's info). Anyway, I recall setting up 1 GB for a photo partition and everything went fine or so I thought. I did not attempt to use the photo partition until this weekend. When I access the Replay through DVarchive the Photos partition(?) appears in the DVR Explorer but there are no folders in it (no "+" sign to click on). When I right click on "photos"and choose "New Photo Folder" and enter a folder name (i.e. "Photos" or "MyPhotos") I get an error. The DVArchive log file lists the error as "ERROR: PHOTO[Living Room]:: Unable to create new directory myphotos on DVR". So, I'm wondering...

(1) Is there any way to confirm that I have a photo partition on the drive?

(2) If I do have a photo partition, which I think I do, am I doing something wrong in my attempts to use it?

Thanks for any help.

What does DVA report for the capacity of the "Photos" partition?

I've never used the photo feature and didn't set aside space for it. When I go the the 'photo viewer' in the replay menu, it says I have no space available, so I assume it would tell you how much space you had if you had a photo partition?

I have had this happen on one of my two 5000's. The space was definitely allocated to the photo partition, but neither RTV's photo software or DVA will allow you to create a photo folder inside the partition. As far as I can tell, this is most likely due to some corruption on the photo partition. Also, I discovered that doing a factory reset does not resolve the problem. The only solution I could come up with was a complete re-image/repatch of the offending drive.
