I have a Sharp M20x DLP projector. It's connected to a HTPC (NVidia fx5200 video card). I used to run VGA->projector and had done the proper color, contrast/brightness adjustments. I switched over to DVI almost a year ago but never got around to re-adjusting the settings. I decided to finally do it the other night but when I went into the projector settings I found that I could not adjust any of them. The brightness/contrast/rgb were all grayed out (Couldn't select to adjust). The only thing I could do was toggle the RGB/SRGB option to effect the color slightly (not sure which of these to use yet though? comments?)

Anyway, is this typical that you can't adjust color, contrast, or brightness when using DVI on a DLP projector? Is there anyway to bypass this? I'm fairly certain I'm not getting the best contrast ratio as the THX optimizers on DVD's for brightness/constrast I can't see all the darker shades of boxes (Which I could when it was connected via VGA.)

Thanks.

If it's connected to your PC, why don't you use the video card drivers to adjust your picture. I know I'm able to do that with my ATI 9600PRO connected via the video card's DVI. I can adjust RGB, brightness, contrast, and even gamma.
