Hey guys I just picked up an Onkyo HT-S3200s HTIB system. I got it connected to my computer (has 5.1 card) via optical output. The problem is whenever I turn both front speakers (B) and satellite speakers (A), I get no sound output, even when I go through the various play modes and Dolby Prologc/DTS shows up. All I hear is base and very very little sound through the subwoofer. The closest I got to 5.1 is with sound only coming out of the center channel and satellite speakers. What am I doing wrong? :/

Thanks in advance fellas.

When you say front speakers (B) and satellite speakers (A), do you mean you have the fronts hooked up to separate zones?

Well they're hooked up to different connectors in the back of the receiver (color coded) - hope that's what you were asking for. A then corresponds to the satellite speakers (an A pops up in the LCD display of the receiver), and B to the front speakers.

Yeah, Onkyo was dumb mixing the A zone speaker connections with binding posts and spring clips. I "kinda" see why they wanted to do that, but still...

Connect the fronts to the binding posts (the screw type terminals) labeled Front A like afrogt said. The B speakers are for a separate room or outdoor speakers. They're not really meant to work in conjunction (they can, but it's a different application than what you want.)

For music, set it to something like All Channel Stereo or one of the Music modes. Then it should sound right.
