Can anyone with an onkyo tx-sr800 receiver help me out on this? I can't get it to auto-detect and display a dolby digital 5.1 ex signal as dd-ex. It only displays it as normal 5.1 dd. I have both sets of surrounds on in the menu and i have dd-ex, thx-ex, and dts-es all set to auto. I can get a 6.1 dts-es signal to show up just fine. The only way i can get a dd-ex signal is to force it by turning ex to on. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it something i'm doing wrong?

This is not your fault. There are only a few (IIRC, you could count them all on 1 hand) movies that have proper DD-EX flags.

Just force the surround back to on while watching EX movies.

I tested it using lord of the rings extended and star wars episode 2 ATOC.
