Please help. I just purchased a new Samsung BD-P1200 and I am able to play SD disks, but I bought Crank in BD and can't get to the "play" menu.

The disk loads, and I get an intro screen for Lionsgate, then I get the background for the Crank main menu, but nothing appears. When pressing "menu" and other buttons, I get the "not allowed" symbol.

Music plays in the background, but I do get a warning message that I don't have HDMI audio set up.

Video playing thru HDMI

Audio thru optical cable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Crank works perfect on my player, just checked for you. Loaded fast, looks great. Try another disc. Maybe you got a bad copy.

From the CNET review:

"Don't get us wrong, the BD-P1200's HDMI 1.3 input, excellent image quality on Blu-ray discs and DVDs, and an upgradeable Ethernet port give it an edge over all current first-generation standalone Blu-ray players"

Thanks. I only have the 1 blu-ray now. I didn't know if I was missing something in the setup.

Are you pushing "disc menu" rather than just "menu", which is for player setup? Also, have you tried just pressing play? I don't have Crank, but maybe it's one of these with the mystery meat navigation on the title screen.

Samsung BD-P1200 Blu-ray Player (Benchmark)

Who would have thought that, less than a year later, Samsung would release its successor, and the difference would be staggering? Not only is the BD-P1200 a significant step up as a Blu-ray player, it is light years ahead for SD DVD playback.

I just bought the 1200 2 days ago. Mine will play all movies but Crank. It will work fine until the main menu but at that point it won't give you any thing to choose from, it just has a background. So I decided I would take my copy back to BB to see if it would work on one of their players (a bdp 1200) and it wouldn't. So I tried 2 more and the same thing happed. I then tried it on the 1000 and it worked fine!

These Crank BR movies would play on the Sammy 1000 but not the 1200. Do you think there are some bad Crank BR disks or do you all think it might be the players?

I haven't had any problems w/my 1200 until I tried the Ultimate Avengers Blu-ray disc...it starts to load & I even get the Lionsgate "gears" loading thing, but it stays black & never loads the movie...anyone else try this disc & this player? It plays fine on the PS3...

Have you tried Crank? I would like to know if anyone has been able to get Crank to work on the 1200 or if it will only work on the 1000. When it gets to the point where there should be a menu to select stuff like setup and scenes or play it's just not there. If I hit play in the top right it gives me a circle with a line thru it.
