I am still having a problem whenever I make a recording of a capture. I can do this successfully a few times, then the next time right at the point of when the recording stops it locks up my computer to the stage that I have to reboot. It does not make any difference if I use AMCAP, VitualVCR, VitualDub or SVCDCorder. I am trying to get this system down before I want to make a recording of something I want to keep. Each time I set the recording up it is for no less than a minute and up to 5 minutes long. When it works it works great, but I hold my breath everytime it is about to stop. It also make no difference if I do a manual or scheduled recording.

My equipment is AMD 2000, 1.7 Ghz. The capture card is a Xcapture card.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? My wife leaves the room everytime I start working on this because she knows it is aggravating to spend this much money on something and it does not work right.

Any ideas is appreciated!!!
