i was wondering is there anyway to hook up some car speakers and a car sub to a amp then have it work cuz my friend will sell my some of his old stuff for cheap so i was wondering if i could somehow get them in my room and hooked up to my ps3 and stuff. i already have 5.1 htib but its 3 years old and dont sound to good

Car speakers are 4 ohm and home theater speakers are 6-8 ohms and your avr or amp can't handle them and you will fry the amp section in the avr using car speakers.

it's better just getting some better speakers little by little,

By the way what is your budget maybe we can find you some low cost speakers that sound good.

What irony. A signature that says your allergic to BS and a statement that home theater speakers are only 6-8 ohms. There are many, fine, extraordinary, home speakers that are 4 ohm speakers. I agree, perhaps, that one might not want to use car speakers in a HT setup, but to suggest that 4 ohm speakers, in general, won't work for HT and that 4 ohm speakers will "fry" one's amp, is exactly what you are allergic to...Bull shi*.
