I am looking for some case suggestions for a htpc located in my furnace room. I'd like to use my harmony remote as much as possible but I also have a tiny BT keyboard if needed. I ran across this thread where it mentions different types of IR but im not sure what cases have what when shopping. http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=631847


Any suggestions as to a horizontal HTPC style case? my budget is probably in the $100-300 range.

I'm very pleased with my Lian Li PC-C60 case. Good cooling, quiet 120mm fans. Loads of HD bays.


I have a Harmony 900 too. I have threaded one of the mini IR blasters into the case and put in an Antec Veris Basic receiver in an internal HD bay. Works great.

Antec Veris Basic is what allows you to use a remote with the HTPC ? This pretty standard or are there other options?

There are lots of remote options. I wanted something a bit more programmable and the ability to turn on from cold off. Most of the Windows Media remotes wont turn on from cold, only from sleep. The Antec Veris Basic comes with iMon software which is OK and pretty flexible, and acts like an on switch when the box is off.
