not sure if i'm allowed to post this here as it doesn't pertain to any tech spec of the movie.

but at the end of the movie, on vesper's cell phone, bond pressed some buttons and it showed "for james:" followed by mr white's number.

is that a msg left by vesper so bond can track down mr white? who sent the msg?

Now the real question, Will the next Bond flick pick up with Bond going for revenge after "speaking" to Mr. White? As far as I know Bond movies have been self contained with no real connections to previous films even with the same actors.

TRILOGY!!!

i'd imagine they do a follow up since we still no almost nothing of Mr White's organization and Vesper's background. The unknown organization is also still holding the winnings.

ps. am i alone in feeling that eva green looks way hotter w/o that damn eye shadow ala the scene in the bathroom when she and bond sparred over dinner wear?

Well, the '60s Bonds dealt with SPECTRE, which came to a head in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Blofeld and references to OHMSS show up at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only 12 years later.

"Live and let die" the 2nd book, has already been made into a movie. I believe that does it for the Ian Fleming books and I've read that they will not remake any of the older movies with Craig.

The next movie is called "Bond 22" and from what I hear will be a continuation of Casino Royal so you may be right.

SPECTRE couldn't be used by Sony unless it forks over some big payout, although they could come up with another group. This is what I've always said what was wrong with the last half dozen Bond movies: no central villain. SPECTRE, and for good reason (see OHMSS), was Bond's obsession. Seeing billionaires wanting to take over the world got tired after, oh, Moonraker!

I've been saying this for years, too. I've wanted them to bring back some shadowy, SPECTRE-like organization for quite some time now.

You are definitely NOT alone on that one - of course she's stunning either way.

You are correct.

Ah that's what I thought! Bond usually ties in with currently big political stuff (Cold War, Afghanistan - ah the irony of watching the Living Daylights in light of current events), so I'm expecting the SMERSH analogy to be tied to Al-Qaeda or some such.

P.S.

Please note that the original date for this theatrical release was pushed back. Must mean Sony Pictures is having problems or they are not committed to the franchise, eh ?

Is there a forum on the internet where people can ***** about pushed back dates for theatrical screenings. like there is for Blu-ray title releases ?

After Smurfs debut back in the 80s, I don't think any violent organized crime ring is going to get any street cred with SMERSH.

I'm wondering if they would go with the name SMERSH anyway. Although it's supposed to be an acronym, I believe SMERSH is also the Russian word for "death." Such a name may have been appropriate during the Cold War, but it might seem anachronistic now.
