still no fix for HDMI audio in 9.7. the same 2 channel b.s. shows up

I can't say I'm excited about the new interface since it doesn't add functionality.

In case you're curious here are the Release Notes
Odd, I click on the link and is shows 9.6.
Has the display manager been added for Win7?

Right now "Full Catalyst Software Suite" for Windows 7 and Vista only.

Individual/Optional/Motherboard/XP drivers will be added later (tomorrow?).

Great, thanks. In the middle of a fresh Vista install. Tomorrow is the fresh Win7 install, so I'll check it out then.
Biggest UI changes for a long time.

Solved few extended mode problems I got.

So far so good.
Did they get rid of the scaling function? I don't see it anymore.

It's still there, go to "Desktops and Displays" right click in your monitor icon and click in Configure.
Thanks, I was right clicking on the monitor image above the ones on the bottom.
I'd say color me underwhelmed, but pissed is more accurate. This is absolute crap. To even find the scaling option requires a decoder ring. To find it and have it disabled on a 4670 is Bullsh*t. To have that and massive default overscanning? I can't even get to the taskbar.

I was annoyed that FIOS was going to render my MSI Diva useless. Now? I think they may be doing me a favor. This is a really bad joke. I'd say more, but I need to rollback the driver ASAP.

Failure - jaw dropping, stunning, incompetent failure.

Currently running CCC V9.2

If it works, don't fix it...

Did they keep the horrific new UI that was in the leaked 9.7? I believe Satan, after trying out the leaked drivers, created a tenth circle of hell specifically for the day when whoever designed that UI enters...

Hello

As for Cat9,7, a bug of the YC extension is not recovered in BD playback..

Is there any good method?

I use TMT2 and PowerDVD9Ultra.

VGA is HD4870.

There is not a problem in Cat9,4.

Yours sincerely,

9.7 With 780G HD3200 Onboard Report:

All good!

Vector Adaptive with VMR9, Aero OFF, under Vista SP2, works for DVD's. (AERO ON will disable all but Weave/Bob).

HD-DVD Playback is good under PowerDVD8 with Reloaded 3.0

MKV's, Xvids alll good, since I use FFDShow for that.

Still tearing of the image without AERO ON, I get around this by using VMR9 Renderless Exclusive under Media Portal, and for whatever reason PowerDVD has never had the tearing problem.

Overall very stable, though I think the new GUI is more difficult to use and an unnecessary change anyway.

It's not easy to find 'Confiure a display' that includes important display settings:

- Attributes

- Avivo Color

- Scaling Options (Every user using HDTV needs to adjust this option first!)

- HDTV Supports

- LCD Overdrive

- Pixel Format

That should be included in the pull-down menu for easy access. And removing the navigation pane is a very bad idea, IMO.

Did you run Cheese Slices ? Being able to select Vector adaptive in CCC does not necessarily mean that it is actually working.
No I haven't yet, just comparing a DVD I have that would flicker madly under XP because it would only be Bob'ed, but under Vista it's being deinterlaced but isn't flickering madly, so I assume it's using something better than bob, either way it's good enough for me, just might not be VA, I should check it I guess :p

If I turn AERO on then the DVD flickers madly again because of it being only Bob'ed.

EDIT: I just ran the PAL DVD test, there isn't any obvious parts of the DVD to show if VA is working, I just had to look at the TV and compare it to the screen shots on my laptop. From what I can tell though it does look as good as the VA screen caps.

I'm pretty happy with this, I nearly went out and bought a new video card so I'd get VA for my interlaced PAL dvds. Now I don't have to
