Bit of a complicated question for anyone experienced with the Cav 6.6 regarding power management. Three of my sources are my cable, sat, and dvd player from my home theater room. I use the power management feature of the unit, and use a 12 trigger off of my home theater reciever, so my cable/sat/dvd boxes are not shut off, if they are in use. Due to using a hamony remote in the theater room, I have turned off the power management on the harmony so it assumes the power of the sources is always on. This way when the harmony turns on the reciever, it turns the sources on as well. I could not think of another way to set this up and still be able to have the sources turn on/off as they should both if they are used in a cav zone or the theater. It works fine with the exception that the cable/sat when triggered from the reciever turn on, then off for a second, then on again. I have no idea why. I tested that the harmony is not messing with the source power by allowing everything to a power off state, and simply pushing the power button on the reciever by hand. Still the sources turn on, then off, then on again. What do I have set incorrectly. I believe the sat/cable have a 5 second sense delay and the dvd has no sensing. I do not think the dvd is turning on/off/on as the cable/sat do. Does the cav continually look for sound and keep trying to power on a souce if it does not get it. If so this might explain the problem? But then if I were to turn that off and one unit gets left in the wrong power toggle somehow, wont not turn that unit on? For example the cable box is left on, the cav goes to power it on and powers it off, it will be let off when it is needed on. Whats the way around this?
