I see that ESPN is broadcasting the Kentucky/Alabama game this week in HDTV. This is the SEC where CBS reigned supreme with HDTV broadcasts last year but dropped out for lack of a sponsor. ESPN has apparently moved in.

I don't think so. This is just the pecking order for available games. The networks review available games and make there selections in some sort of prioritized order and the chips fall where they may. CBS I believe still has the first choice for SEC which is why my guess would be South Carolina vs. Georgia will be the game of the week.

That's probably the more accurate assessment. Each matchup a network picks narrows the pool that they can pick the following week and each week after that. It's one of those "if you pick this you can't have that" things.
