Hi All!

I have a ceiling speaker terminology question. When a flush mounted ceiling speaker is said to be an infinite baffle design, does that refer to the front mounting surface of the speaker (as in baffle step compensation) or to the back portion of the speaker being exposed to enough space, such that there is essentially no back pressure?

If it is the former, I guess all flush mounted ceiling speakers would be infinite baffle. If it is the later, I guess it would mean that adding a back box would make the speaker not work as designed?
