Hello,

I am wondering if it would make a difference in sound if i put my center channel behind my 46 sharp lcd, I have a ton of space behind the tv, and if i put it behind i could get a bigger/better center.

thanks,

joe

If you mean literally behind the TV, then OF COURSE it will affect the sound. Detrimentally.

You're still going to be blocking a considerable amount of sound, making it sound muffled. Either put it in front of the TV down low somewhere out of the viewscreen's way or above or below it so the front of the speaker isn't obscured.

Or go phantom center.

there is open space in stand, so it seams the sound could go thru.

Sure, it may "go thru" but not all of it, particularly those frequencies that you need in order to articulately distinguish dialog.

Of course, if you simply send me your TV, you wouldn't have to worry about it blocking your center channel speaker.
