Has anyone previewed or utilized center channel speaker sets from a company called Home Theater Direct (HTD)? Any feedback on this vendor will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,

I've always been very, very intrigued by this company. My biggest problem with them is that every forum I search online comes up with the same guy advocating them. I don't think he's affiliated with the company, but he lives close to the company's headquarters so he's gone to listen to their speakers on several occasions. He thinks they're great, but it's hard to find many threads on any forum about them that he hasn't taken the lead in the discussion -- therefore I've always been a little skeptical.
Well, I don't live anywhere near HTD but I do have a level two center hooked up to a Panasonic XR-55.

It won't blow anyone out of the water with sound quality, but for $109, it is a good value in my book. It doesn't do anything great, but it does nothing bad. The fit/finish (at least of the black one) is quite nice. It performs admirably on music and movies.

I personally do not know of man centers in this price range, but this one should definitely be considered at least.

Hey, I don't participate in every single HTD thread, but there are so few of them that it seems that way :D

No, I'm definitely NOT associated with HTD. I do think they are great speakers--at their price point. There have also been a few others (like Willd and Ovalnut) who have discussed the merits of these speakers.

No need to be skeptical, as I own way more of another company's products than I do HTD's products :D You can also order and listen for yourself, since I can't guarantee that you'll agree with my opinions (not facts, btw) or not. They'll pay for shipping the speakers back if you don't like them.

I have chimed in before on HTD but will again. I had good luck with their previous Level II speakers and with their better line of in-walls. Also, their customer service is top notch. I see they now have a line of on-walls for use with flat screens, has anyone tried those?

Excellent customer service & the products represent an excellent value. Seems I remember reading that they were started by some folks who designed OEM speaker cabinets.

Value - you'd have to pay much more to beat their quality. Better components than the typical P***, J**, I***** stuff found at CC/BestBuy - you aren't paying for the name, all the $$$ goes into the parts. To get the same level of quality you'd likely pay $199+ @ CC/BestBuy & the Level II Center is $109 = value.

As mentioned they're not "WOW" stuff, just good solid products @ very good prices.
Their outdoor speakers "rock" at the $79 price tag!!!
I have owned a level 3 center for 2 years ...........Clear and clean ..............running AVM 30 and a ATI 2505 amp this might help but a very good speaker for the money Fronts are JM Lab 926 and this center speaker matches very good
I am another happy owner. My two setups include, all are pre-2005 design:

- 2x Level 3 towers; 2x Level 3 bookshelfs, 1 Level 2 center, 1 Level 3 sub (new design)

- 2x Level 3 bookshelfs, 1 Level 2 center

I am definitely very happy with the sound. In fact, two of my friends liked it so much that they did not bother any of their own comparisons and ordered their Level 3 5.1 set. Another office friend got their in-ceiling Hi-defs and is also very pleased. Their customer service is great and I have visited their place outside Dallas.
