I'm guessing closest to your ear level would be best, but the thing is I don't want the center speaker sitting on top of my TV, i was planning on getting a wider HDTV stand and fitting the center speaker high up inside the middle area of the stand, below the TV. But if the sound does infact 'sound' better above the TV than I'll most likely leave it there.

Now to have it below the TV would be for looks, based on how I wan't it. But I guess I'll just have to test it out for myself to see what sounds right for me.

But I was just wondering what area you guys think it's best at?

Bummer.

Well it definitly sounds a bit better when it's on top. On the bottum the sound isn't quite as wide, or as loud and almost feels like it's slightly blocked off.

And put it this way, when the speaker is placed below the TV, the sound is basically shooting/pointing towards my knees. On top of the TV the sound is pointing almost towards the top of the head. Top clearly wins I guess.
