Center speaker placement

Ideally, you'd have three identical front speakers, but most don't. I'd vote for larger, as that would more approximate your front L&R channels.

I assume the center won't fit under the set... so you might try angling the center channel down a bit. Wedge up the back to angle it down

I have a philisophical debate. Most brands of HT speakers usually offer two center channel options. The small one and big one.

I own Sound Dynamics speakers now (RTS-9 tower fronts, C-2 center and RS-1 surrounds). My current C-2 center speaker is the larger of the two options and it currently sits on top of my TV. While I think it sounds good, I have never heard the smaller C-1.

My problem is it shoots WAY above my head. My TV and TV stand are quite high. I have the option of buying the C-1 center and it will fit BELOW the TV in the VCR slot of my TV stand.

SOOO... my question is.... Would the sound of the slightly smaller speaker be worth the tradeoff of the better placement?

All opinions welcome.

One more fact. I run my center speaker (and surrounds for that matter) as SMALL in my HT setup. I set the crossover at standard THX 80Hz. So I'm not too concerned about the lows missing from either center speaker option, but I am worried about a lower quality of midrange.
