I can vouch for the rbh 515. I have had the elac center, while good in it’s own right could not produce the same level of details as the rbh. The Emotiva c2 get a lot of praise around here as well but I have never heard it.
If you can handle the looks or lack there of, the Emotiva C1/2 or Chane 2.4 get great reviews. IMO Klipsch have good voice clarity. About the only way to know is for you to demo a speaker in your own space.Hi All,
I'm setting up a loft (14x20) space for watching movies and streaming Netflix. I already have my TV in place (got a great deal on 82q90r ~3.4k) and will be getting the Yamaha RX-A780.
I want to start off with a center and LR setup first. Then finish it out later with back ceiling surround and maybe in-ceiling ATMOS. But for the issue at hand, the center.
My highest priority is dialogue clarity, which I assume rest almost entirely on the center. Next priority would be the price.
I'm looking at the Elac 2.0 C6.2 center + B6.2 LR. They were on sale last black friday for ~300 for all three. So maybe it'll be the same or better this year
I'm probably going to pair this with the Elac Sub3010.
So what do you guys think? The Elac Debut 2.0 setup good for the dailogue clarity? What are your other recommendations?
Much appreciated!!
$300 for all 3 front speakers is very hard to beat, and the nice thing about Best Buy is you can easily get your money back within 15 days if you aren't happy with them.I'm looking at the Elac 2.0 C6.2 center + B6.2 LR. I can not speak directly for the TFE center, but the Bookshelf TFE60 has good clarity, and the same drivers are used in the center ... one of the woofers in the center is a bass radiator, and the tweeter is placed high on the center, which is a good thing. What about the TFE60 LCR for 310? How’s the TFE60C-B center with regards to clarity?
CoolOK thanks, I ordered the TFE60s to try.
thats why he's taking advantage of the DCM TFE60 liquidation saleAre you set on the Yamaha RX-A780? It makes little sense to spend less on your front three speakers, which can make a huge difference in sound quality, than you do on your AV-rec, which may or may not make a difference in your sound (room correction can make big or more often, small differences). If you found a cheaper AV rec that could meet your needs, say $3-400 dollars, that would give you an extra couple hundred for the items that will make the biggest difference. But agree with the above...if you can get all three of the ELACs for 300, that is a nice price! Here's an idea, get a cheaper AV Rec, and if you can get the ELACs for 300/3, then you got start of a budget for a nice subwoofer...ELAC Sub? I'll would pass...no reason for the subwoofer to match and ELAC ain't known for being a great subwoofer maker, like SVS, PSA, Rythmiks, Outlaw or HSU...
Is that one pair at $200 and $400 for two pairYeah actually got 4 of the TFE60s for ~200  I'll move two of them to surround if I decide to upgrade the center in the future.
Now onto the sub...what's a good pairing for an upstairs loft space 14x20x9?
SVS PB-1000?
Yep, but will an expensive AVR make those DCM TFE60 sound better, except maybe at higher volume? (if the more expensive AVR has more power/better amp) And the features on any AV rec become obsolete much faster than speakers....but yes, nice deal on those speakers for sure!thats why he's taking advantage of the DCM TFE60 liquidation sale
