I have been looking at a Centerstage CS-1 scaler for my new Mits 73909. I am confused about "Native Resolution". What is the native resolution for a MIts 73909?

I spoke to a Centerstage tech guy today. He said with the Centerstage you can customize the output resolution or use some of their standard output rsolutions. Their manual says for HDTV they include: 720P at 16:9, or 1080i at 4:3, or 1080P at 4:3. What about 1080P at 16:9. Are any of these Native Resolution on a Mits? What is a good resolution if I were to add a custom resolution? Can anyone clear this up?

One other thing in their manual. They say that ideally a CS-2 should be used with a VCR. Some thing about tiome based correction.

Thanks. How would one locate this information? The Centerstage people say their scaler will do 1080P. Would this work on the Mits?

Only if your TV can handle 1080p. I do not think that it can, most RPTV's will only handle up to 1080i

Your Mits will not handle 1080p. You will need either 1080i, 540p, or 480p. Ideally you would like to have the capability to use these resolutions at 4:3 or a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Good Luck,

Whn I had my Mits 55857 and an HTPC I found the "sweet spot" for this display was 540p. The lenticular screen was really not fine enough for 1080i, it worked but I found the image at 540p more pleasing.

The bottom line is the set does 480p and 1080i and the varriants of these formats.

480p and 960i have the same timing

540p and 1080i have the same timing

If you feed it 480i the Mits will use it's internal doubler. You don't want that, that's why you bought the CS1.

I suggest trying 540p or 1080i and choose which one you like the most. It's a matter of taste.
