Hi,

I have a set of Rogers cinema speakers, a Denon 3802 and my nForce2 HTPC through SP/DIF. The problem is the centre speaker is too quiet during movies. I have tried turning it up on the 3802 but this doesn't seem to do anything when watching a DVD coming in via the SP/DIF. Likewise the nForce settings do not affect the DD stream as well. How can I change this?

Will something like AC3Filter allow me to change this or is it just down to the amp as it is doing the DD decoding? Besides I've heard that AC3Filter does not have a good audio quality.

Regards

You shouldn't be encoding the DVD audio steam. You want a direct pass. Make sure you DVD player software is outputting directly to your spidf out. Soundstorm is great for taking non-DD5.1 and making it sound like 5.1. Every system with a spidff out connection should be able to simply pass the DD5.1.

If you're trying to watch a duplication, it may have been fuxed with..

Hi,

That's why I stated that SS is not affecting the DD stream. It is a straight pass through. I was wondering if there was a way I could increase the center channel before it gets to the amp as my 3802 doesn't seem to do squat when I increase the channel.

Cheers
