Hello,

I am new here but I would like some advice on a purchase of a subwoofer. I have been looking for a decent subwoofer for my home theater/stereo that will really crank out the lows. I have an older 10" sub with very little power behind it and that just doesn't cut it... Anyway, I have the option to buy the older Cerwin Vega LW-12 subwoofer in very good condition for about $80. Is it a good buy? I looked up the sub and it seems pretty good based on the specs... Also it has raving reviews on many sites, but the reviews are from mostly 2000-2001 (about 8 years ago), so I'm just wondering if this sub would still be considered "good" by today's standards...

Please let me know what you guys think and if it would be a good buy...

Thanks so much!

"Good", no not really. Good for the money, well it's not bad. It won't play too deep (I think it has an HP filter at around 25-28hz), but would work. If it were me, I'd try to talk the person down to 50, but that's just cause I like to haggle a little.
