I don't have any experience with emotiva ( I hear nothing but good things about them)
IMHO my vote goes to A2.4 ( I love my Chanes)

I've owned both the C1 and A2.4 as centers, and would agree with the others that these are both solid centers.Putting together a system for my son's family room and am looking at either a Chane A2.4 or Emotiva C1+ or another in the under $300 price range for the center channel. Looking for clear audio that can play and louder levels for home cinema.
I got the Chane A2.4 for the downstairs game room/family room area and am pleased with it overall. My son wanted to do something about the terrible sound of his main family room TV. I decided to get the Emotiva C1 for that set up because it has a more open entertainment stand so could fit the taller size of the Emtiva . Two different rooms, with the downstairs area a bit larger. My personal preference for the center is the Emotiva, it sounds fuller, with very clear dialogue. This is by no means a knock on the Chane, it is an excellent center and fits the equipment area better. After hearing the Emotiva I regret making my center channel space only 8" tall thus stopping me from getting the Emotiva C2. I have a Klipsch RP-450C which fits in the space I have. I have toyed with removing tile and redoing my entertainment wall but the WAF is not good for that remodelI've owned both the C1 and A2.4 as centers, and would agree with the others that these are both solid centers.
The A2.4 is the better choice for louder levels and does throw a bigger soundstage than the C1 due to being a rear ported design vs the C1's sealed cabinet. However, I narrowly preferred the more balanced and weightier sound of the C1
If you have the space and can spend an extra $100 over the cost of the A2.4, you can get the C2+ which has bigger woofers and dual rear ports to give you the best of both worlds.
