Hi,

I've read about the new DLP's(Sharp 9000, Seleco HT 300, Marantz VP(?)) and it seems they are/will be the best hometheater projectors around for the time being.

I'm using a Hitachi XGA LCD 4:3 + an iScan Pro right now, mainly for DVD-playback. It's makes a pretty good picture with 2200 ANSI but only 200:1 Contrast(is this really bad ?).

Specs here: http://www.projectorcentral.com/proj...fm?part_id=914

Would it make sense to upgrade to one of the DLP's or is it to early ? Would there be a major difference in overall picture quality ?

In most of the discussions members mention the high contrast as fantastic in the new DLP's but don't like the low Lumens.

Is these the 2 most important factors in projectors ?

Thanks,

Martin

Hey there...and welcome to the forum.

I will first say that no one will be able to tell you what you want, you must see them in action.

First, yes, these new projectors have great contrast ratio..but from the trend I can see. this appears to be BECAUSE of the low lumens, in combination with the new DMD chips.

I would wait. These are the first of many projectors going to be released.

I have a VGA
