We just moved in to a place that already has Comcast cable set up. They had a 4:3 TV set up to their Comcast cable box and we have a 16:9 widescreen TV. We have been through the entire set up menu and there is not a place to adjust the ratio setting on the cable box. The picture fills the entire screen and we don't really notice a problem unless we are watching The Game, in which case it is impossible to see the score, unless we want to adjust the screen position which stinks because then the bottom (or top) of the screen disappears. Is there any way to manually change the setting without calling the cable guy out?

well if the TV is outputting coax or composite (single yellow cable) you might need to change the cables.

I honestly forget how to get into the configuration menu without looking at the box, but it's something like hitting the menu button on the box, when the box is in standby.

Did you try adjusting picture size and aspect ratio on the TV? My Comcast (HD) box doesn't let you change any picture options apart from screen position.
