So with my MTM build, I was just wondering, how much work it would be to change the 4 plastic ports in the DIYSG baffle over to a slot style port? I modeled them up in sketchup and my thinking was to get the internal volume of the 4 ports, which is ~45^3". Then I could just figure out the internal dimensions of a slot to match that. Am I correct in my thinking as long as internal port size is the same, it shouldn't effect the tune? Does it matter that it would be one large port rather than 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom?

Sure you can. Just calculate the correct size port and adjust you box size a tad for the extra material used to build the slot. I'm not a fan of the premade ports, but they're great for those with too few tools. I changed my v-8 ports to round ports just because I think a nice 3/4" round over looks best, and helps with chuffing, if applicable. Why slots vs. round?
