Is channel 9425 able to be viewed using a dish 5000,or does require a 6000 with upgrade?I want to tape some HDTV NBA.

No. You need the 6000 w/8PSK module, which has no Firewire or 8VBS output for recording.

Sure, months ago when it was learned. Now it's just old news. Oh, since you seem to be a little behind the times, all new Dish Network HDTV will also be unreceiveable by the 5000, too.

A bit expensive but 169Time can sell you a retrofit now to your 6000 that will enable DVHS recording of all the HDTV channels. Check out the AVX thread in this section for details.
