channel changing probs, Comcast

Sometimes my cable box does not change to the set channel to record a show that I have pre-set. Other times, if I am watching a show that has been recorded, and a new show starts to record, the cable box does not change to the channel of the new show. I have already fixed the "three digit" problem, this is a different one. Any suggestsions?
