My setup is:

1. cable-ready on coax input for most channels

2. cable box on line 1 for the few scrambled channels

These are set to neighboring towns from the same provider.

Originally, the coax was numbered from 2 to 99 and line 1 was numbered from 102 to 199. Last night, the number scheme spontaneously reversed so that now line 1 is numbered 2 to 99 and the coax is numbered 102 to 199. Needless to say, I am pretty irritated.

The only reference in the FAQ to something similar involves having both DISH and DirecTV (question 16) - "ReplayTV adds 1000 to whichever one has less channels so the channels don't overlap"

Has anyone encountered this before? Does anyone know how to get the channels renumbered back the way they were?

Nothing you can do. I'd guess that one of the chosen providers added some new channels, which made that have more channels then the other one so they swapped. The logic is the same, the one with the most channels gets the lower numbers.
