Channels come, channels go, who knows why; sometimes a stranger from Philadelphia drops in for a while; most times they remap, sometimes they don't; the net result is, I end up doing a channel search at least every week.

So, three questions: Should I be doing a channel search so often? It's beginning to feel obsessive, and maybe there's a memory function I missed that would make it unnecessary. Also, from posts on this forum, I came to understand that, to do a channel search on the DTC 100, I should turn the on-air guides off, do the search, then turn the guides back on. Which leads to the second question: Am I doing it right? And finally, Why do it that way? I'm not sure I understand what I'm gaining by turning the guides off and on like that.

Consider forgetting the search function and simply direct access the channels you wish to see. There can't be more than a half dozen digital channels that you are capable of receiving.
