Charging a Harmony 950/Elite

I have a Harmony 950, basically the Elite without the hub.  My wife just told me she spilled unsweetened tea all over the side table which has the charging base on it (remote was not in it).  she unplugged it and dried it up.  I told her to leave it unplugged until I get home to look.  In the event she killed the base can the remote be charged by plugging the USB cable in directly to the remote?  If not is there a reliable source to get a new base?  I found one listing on Amazon but it's "out of stock don't know when we're getting more".

The power plug for the Elite/950 base can be plugged directly into the remote. I doubt your base is damaged, unless it went swimming in the iced tea. Just make sure the contacts in the base are clean and no liquid is in the power plug port.

Thanks guys. We plugged it back in this evening and the base seems to be working. Looks like the "crisis" is over.
