Yeah the Motorola 6412 box has its benefits but also its issues. There are a couple of massive threads about it in the related HDTV forum. The ES20 is much more responsive in FF/pause/slow-mo/rewind/etc, but it doesn't have two digital HD tuners and a 120GB HDD that the 6412 does...

Chase Play missed with HDTV
I sure got used to chase play with my Panny ES20. Could start watching a program in the middle & catch up during commercials. Pause, get food, etc. Was completely seamless.
I just got an HDTV and, well, not seamless. Obviously can still record, but now have to switch between HD and SD inputs. Watch part of the program off the Panny & the rest off HD. Bummer.
I guess I now need a Comcast/Motorola HD recorder in order to accomplish seamless transitions with chase play. Or one of the expensive HD recorders. I really got used to watching TV on my terms.
