Is there any way via the menus to check whether or not my RCA VH100 10db signal amp (plugged in front of my 4 way splitter) will work correctly w/the DCT-5100's upstream modem? I looked the info in the diagnostics menu (Power then Ok) and couldn't really tell from the info I saw there.

I'd hate to have my cable box stop working (and therefore have my Tivo miss shows) at some unknown point in the future. I just got the box installed this morning and the amp hooked up

Any suggestions or should I just wait for my cable box to stop working (if it does) or maybe receive a call from Comcast?

no it will not work 2 way, it only goes down to 50mhz and the return modem typically runs around 6mhz. Also having a static amp is not a good idea you may actually end up overloading the signal. My best suggestion have a tech come out see what your signal is and correct it properly.
