Thought I'd post this here as it only has relevance for Sony 12XX and Barco 800/801 users.


I pulled out a very nice blue tube out of a Sony 1270. Very slight 4:3 wear, with a squarish darker burn on the left side of the raster area about 1/2" square. In the middle of the left had side of course, so you will see this mark in 4:3 or 16:9 mode.


I can't sell it in one of my units, but this defect might be preferable for one of you out there that has a badly worn tube. White balance of the tube is good as matched to the other two tubes before I pulled it out of the set.

I estimate the overall tube 'on ' time to be about 3500-4000 hours. This is not as distinct as a text burn, I've never seen a mark like this on a tube before...
