I just looked through the list of DVD players that have the chroma bug, and am wondering what conditions need to be present to REALLY notice it.

I have heard that the Toshibas, for example, have the bug, but that it is not really noticable on a screen up to 50"

Is this true?

In the search for player that I can actually count on and enjoy the PQ, this has me worried a bit lately - particularly given my bad luck in ither finding something I like PQ wise, or finding something that actually works without gobs of errors. My patience is wearing thin.

Of late, I am looking at:

Sony NC655P

H&K DVD25 (or 50 - are they the same chip wise?)

One of the new "cheaper" panasonics (no chroma bugs ?)

Some newer Toshiba (SD4800 or something)

Kenwood DV 6050

The only DVD-A player I will consider is the Kenwood, since it has Bass management for the DVD-A output...other than that I am giving it up on DVD-A until they get the format figured out.

I am liking the idea of a changer more and more lately - especially after watching LOTR EE ;)
