I've had my NEC 50MP2 for a little over a year now and it has always performed flawlessly. The manual mentions that "cinema mode" can be enabled. What exactly does this do, and should I have it enabled all the time?
Cinema mode enables the "3:2 pulldown" processing that fills in material lost during the encoding of film based material. If you use your NEC to watch anything that originated on film it should be enabled. I turned it off just for expeimentation on my 42vp4 and the results varied from barely noticable to pretty ugly.
