I was exited to see that CinemaNow is starting 720p movies, until I saw the price. I went for my 99 cents coupon, only to find none of the 720p movies are available as pay-per-view. These movies are cheaper from Amazon.

wow 19.99 a movie. That is a lot. Also if you buy the movie at amazon you get the 1080p version.



At least they offer it I guess.

How does the Amazon price compare when including shipping? I can't get to Amazon from work.


Too bad it is only IMAX stuff... no major releases.

Right now $15 and one is 16.39. If you spend more than 25 dollars you get free shipping.

A few months ago someone from Microsoft posted here that he thought it would be a long time before CinemaNow started HD. It is nice to see something ahead of schedule for a change.


Now that I think about it, the lack of pay-per-view might have been a decision from the movie producers instead of CinemaNow. Does anyone know? I just hope that CinemaNow realizes it is the high prices that keeps me from buying from them an not a lack of interest in 720p download. Hopefully, the next step will be major releases. I don’t even think they have T2 yet. If I could download my favorite (non OTA) shows at 720p as well, I would cancel my satellite service.
