I apologize for not being sure of the answer to this ...

If I receive digital cable, and as part of that digital cable I receive some network HD channels that are _also_ broadcast OTA, is it true that I could record these HD network stations right off of the coax, with no STB ?

That is, if I have a MyHD card or something like that, can I plug my coax directly into that myHD card and record these network HD channels ?

My understanding is that there is no copy protection or DRM of any kind on these channels and that I can record them at _full_ resolution and _full_ quality ...

Are all of these assumptions correct ?

Yes, if you have a QAM tuner that can be interfaced with a PC, the received HD programs from digital cable can be recorded on the PC hard drive.
