I've been trying to get clown bd to strip the hd audio from a bluray .iso I have on file. I selected the ac3 audio on the right hand side where it has the options however the end result is an .iso that has no audio at all. The reason I want to strip the HD audio is because my media player can't send HD audio through the toslink optical cable to my surround sound system.


BTW: DVDFAB has a check box for this function. Just wondering if it was possible on clownbd.

I have never had an issue stripping out an AC3 track with Clown_BD, do you use teh Networked Media Tank options enable when you start?

there is three check points when u strip ac3 from hd audio in clownbd

first thing in the main box u should choose the audio from multiple audio formats

second one is right down the bottom choose ac3 and the third one is on the right side make sure u choose the audio format

sometime the check box is empty

What problems are you having, all you are looking to do is get an AC3 track correct?

Yes. For some reason when it's done I get no audio.

In the "output audio format" selection (bottom of step 3 page) there is a check box for "Unconverted" "LPCM" "AC3" and "DTS". Is this where I select what audio I want? Can I uncheck everything but "AC3". What about the settings to the right under "Audio"? Do I need to mess with that at all or is that just showing what's on the disk? It's as if there are two different locations to select what audio you want.

No, what you are telling Clown_BD to do is to take the DTS(MA) track and convert it to AC3 (see OUtput Audio Format checkbox). If you wanted DTS(MA) you would check unconverted.

Ok, it seemed to work. I was able to create an .iso file of just the movie from the blue ray disk (left out all the extra stuff) and in a file format (AC3) that would play on my surround system through an optical connection.

Ah, didn't see that. I was confused why you wouldn't just keep the original audio track #4 instead. Is downconverted DTS-MA better? For that conversion, is the DTSMA audio used, or just the DTS core?

YOu can't be sure what track that AC3 track is. For instance you know the DTS(MA) is the main audio track. However, the AC3 track could be directors commentary, etc... I have ran into this a couple of times so I found the safest way is just to grab what you know is teh main audio track. I forget how eac3to does it, I think it make grab the core and convert to AC3 but there is no difference

Fair enough. It's been my experience that if it's 5.1 and not 2.0 it's usually the main audio.

I just ripped a movie that was originally in a language other than English. There are English subtitles. What settings do I need to concentrate on in order to get the English subtitles? I thought I had it all selected but when I went to play it, there were no subtitles. Not sure where I went wrong.
