In another thread, someone recommended "Surgender" surge protectors, because they are supposed to cut off the line when their surge capacity is exhausted.

The Rat Shack RS 15-1110 was also recommended, because it supposedly has a greater life. However, I noticed that RS's online documentation states that their unit will continue to let the signal through after its surge capability has been exhausted. Not really a big deal, since I plan to continue my boycott of RS.

However, I haven't been able to find any documentation to verify that the "Surgender" does in fact cut the signal when it can no longer protect against surges. Has anyone been able to verify this?
