COD2 stuck on top of Silo

You have to snipe the mortar teams. Look for the gold stars on your compass to get an idea of where they are. If you are quick enough, your squad mate will tell you where some are coming from and you can nail them before they even get set up to fire.

After a couple of rounds, you'll see that the mortar crews tend to set up at the same spots. There are 3 fields, and near the half-track in town, and at each location, there are about 3-4 spots, so once you figure out where to look, picking them off isn't so bad.


What I couldn't do was figure out how to get back down the ladder at the end of the mission. After finally finishing it, I fell off the silo on the way back to meet the LT and had to start from about half-way through again. The next time, I followed the other guy closely and 'rode' his head while he climbed down the ladder!

I was at the exact same spot last night. Took me a couple of tries to figure out where the mortars were coming from. I also died the first time down the ladder, but the checkpoint was after all the baddies were dead.


I was able to get down by backing into the ladder..... I guess climbing a ladder with your back to it is not a 'best practice'.
