we have a 'full on' ht setup in our living room, consisting of the following:

panny 58 inch 720p plasma

denon 3808 receiver (a recent acquisition to replace an older denon)

atlantic technologies thx speaker system

toshiba hd-dvd player

old sony s7000 cd/dvd player

comcast hd dvr

cisco powerline for connectivity

harmony 880 remote

bluray--panny 85, lg 570 or sony 570 coming soon!!!

i'm still getting used to the 3808--what a royal pita to get set up, and i'm still not 100% sure i have it right yet. we've had the speaker setup for about 10 years and really like it. looking forward to getting the bluray going with all the connectivity.

bedroom setup (pretty basic):

sharp 37 inch lch

crummy panny dvd player

comcast hd dvr

brand new zvox 425 sound bar

we got the zvox after the sound board on our sharp lch died. what a great product, highly recommended. the sound in the room, while not 5.1, is really terrific now. we may put a bluray in here as well after seeing how all the connectivity works in the main ht this year.

I recommend skipping the Panny/Lg/Sony Bluray players and go OPPO. http://www.oppodigital.com/?partner=111

Don't you own a Panasonic DMP-DB35?

Yes, I do.. It's a great player (a bit slow in load times) but when you have something like the oppo around, I say save up some money and buy the best.
