Will anything bad come from coiling the cable by the receiver? I was decided what length of cable to buy and figured I'd just order the longer of the 2 as long as I won't have any repercussions from coiling it up.

You might get your foot caught in the loop, be tripped to the ground, bust your head on the corner of the coffee table, and die.

*walks over and uncoils speaker wire*

you should be fine. have a loop or two in my speaker wire. my dealer cut me cable from the spool, and i had i wanted to 7' strands, 14' total. i got charged for 14' total. i received 28' total. so instead of complaining for a lack of attention to detail, i walked away silently. didnt want to embarrass anyone
this extra causes me to have a loop or two.

just dont make it too small or your cable will wont really cooperate if/when you increase the distance/stretch it out. also, i would avoid using any cable ties or similar items to keep everything tight. this will make the problem mentioned above even worse, and increase the chance of sivadselim claiming to be psychic
